DIRECT MOUNT VS HANGER
The Ratio Mech comes with two different mounting options, either direct mount or hanger mount. If you’re not sure which mounting option you’ll need, have a look at the guide below.
Direct Mount

A direct mount derailleur, as the name suggests, mounts directly to the frame of your bike. This is only a feature of bikes manufactured after 2019 when SRAM introduced the Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH)*. If your bike already has a direct mount derailleur installed then you’ll be able to fit our direct mount Mech. If you have a derailleur mounted to a hanger, your frame is only direct mount compatible if it uses a SRAM UDH*. If you have any doubt, you can always contact your frame manufacturer to check whether your bike is direct mount compatible.
Hanger Mount

If your bike doesn’t already have a direct mount derailleur or SRAM UDH*, you’ll need the hanger mount version of the Ratio Mech. If you update your frame later and want to switch to direct mount, no trouble: Simply pick up a set of Direct Mount arms and swap them using the three screws behind the nameplate on the Mech.
