The Ratio Direct Mount Ring is a solid spiderless chainring, machined by Ratio in the Lake District and designed for the broadest possible compatibility;
- Ekar* 13 speed
- SRAM Eagle* 12 speed
- SRAM Flattop* 12/13 speed including Transmission
- Shimano HG+* 12 speed chains
Our solid spiderless chainring features an asymmetric tooth profile that allows one roller to react all the load from the slack side of the chain. This helps manage the disengagement of the chain even when it’s stretched, and secures the lower span of the chain while freewheeling over rough terrain – preventing the “wave” behaviour that can otherwise cause the chain to jump off the teeth. At the tight side, the narrow-wide profile ensures the chain engages smoothly during pedalling and a chamfered seating curve helps to clear debris.
The tooth profile is adapted to engage with SRAM’s 7.9 mm Flattop* rollers without compromising the kinematics of standard 7.7 mm rollers.
Chainline: For the older 3 bolt SRAM cranks, the offset is 7mm. The newer 8 bolt versions have a 8.5mm offset. Both of these give a 45mm chainline for use on road cranks. Offset is defined as the distance between the mounting face of the chainring and the centre plane of the teeth, so is independent of tooth thickness. Chainline is defined as the distance between the centre plane of the frame and the centre plane of the teeth. Please note that these figures may not agree with other aftermarket manufacturers’ due to varying definitions of offset, chainline and/or deviations from manufacturer recommendations.
Note – Check the max. 1x chainring tooth capacity of your frame with it’s manufacturer. In particular, the 46T and 48T Rings may not fit on your gravel frame.
The spiderless Ratio Direct Mount Ring is designed and manufactured in the Lake District, UK from 7075 aluminium.
